Totem Sculptures – Ashley Hicks

somewhere near the top of my list of ‘very unnecessary’ desires is a tabletop sculpture from ashley hicks.

ashley is based in the uk. give him a holler. he’ll create a sculpture especially for you.

each sculpture is about 20 inches tall. each is unique. customizable. terribly un-british.

Floor Lamps

if you ask anyone, they’ll tell you that floor lamps are one of my least favorite design elements. i avoid them whenever possible.

but…i need a space — or a client — that needs a quirky, show-stopping, tony duquette-inspired floor lamp.

Bishop Stools – India Mahdavi

every time i happen upon one of india mahdavi’s ‘bishop stools’, my reaction is that, in every ‘en situ’, it feels totally appropriate. no easy task. the bishop is that extra added ‘little layer of something’ every room needs. and we all know it’s the combination of layers + tension that keep a space interesting.
